On September 29th, the construction of Tianma Optoelectronics 8.6 generation new display panel production line project, a billion dollar industrial project, began in the Xiang'an area of Tongxiang High-tech Zone, Xiamen.

The total investment of Tianma Optoelectronics 8.6 generation new display panel production line project is 33 billion yuan, making it Tianma's first high-generation production line specialized in the small and medium-sized display field. The project is led and invested by ITG Holding as the largest shareholder, with joint venture partners including Xiamen Tianma, Rail Group, and Jinyuan Group. The project covers a total area of approximately 977 acres and has a designed production capacity of 120000 pieces of 2250mm x 2600mm glass substrates per month. It is mainly aimed at the three major application markets of automotive display, IT display, and industrial display. After completion, the project will further enhance Tianma's core competitiveness and promote the optimization and upgrading of Xiamen's new display industry.

Hou Dongquan, General Manager of Xiamen Tianma Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., stated that the characteristic of this production line is to combine the scale of high generation lines and the diversity of small-and-medium sizes, including copper technology, IGZO (oxide semiconductor), as well as mainstream technologies as optical alignment, Adding amorphous silicon to Tianma's existing IT display field, coupled with the production capacity of IGZO (oxide semiconductor), is mainly to enhance Tianma's overall competitiveness.

Chairman Xu Xiaoxi, on behalf of three Xiamen shareholders, including ITG Holding, Jinyuan Group, and Rail Group, congratulated the project on its commencement and expressed gratitude to those from all walks of life who care about and support the development of Xiamen's display industry. He stated that the Tianma 6th generation flexible AMOLED production line project successfully achieved product lighting at the beginning of this year, and will achieve mass production and shipment for major clients within the year, setting a successful example of central and local cooperation in the development of high-tech industries. This year, ITG Holding and Tianma have once again joined to invest in the Tianma 8.6 generation new display panel production line project and the Micro LED test line project of Tianma New Display Technology Research Institute. As the leading shareholder, ITG Holding will continue to make every effort to coordinate and promote resource collaboration among all parties, and support the timely completion and production of the Tianma 8.6 generation project.

It is reported that since its first settlement in Xiamen in 2011, Tianma has established five enterprises in Xiamen, including Xiamen Tianma Microelectronics Co., Ltd. and Xiamen Tianma Display Technology Co., Ltd. It has built two low-temperature polycrystalline silicon production lines for the 5.5th and 6th generations, one 6th generation flexible AMOLED production line, one 8.6th generation new display panel production line, and one Micro LED test line. Xiamen has become the world's largest center of research and development, manufacturing, sales, and procurement for Tianma, with a total investment of over 100 billion yuan. It is expected that the total number of employees of Tianma in Xiamen will increase from the current 20000 to 40000 after the project is fully put into operation. The annual application for invention patents is expected to exceed 1000, and the annual output value 60 billion yuan.
